Location: DS5 Shuttle bay 2
Timeline: MD 01 0730

Kyle sat in the passenger seat of the shuttle and took in the view of the Celestial class station as the small type nine shuttle approached DS5. Harder to defend than the Thatcher but it'd be a benefit that it was stationary, no having to account for any evasive maneuvers.

"First time being assigned to a Station Lieutenant?" The shuttle pilot inquired attempting to make small talk.

"No, no, I spent 3 years at Starbase One before my tour on the Thatcher." Kyle answered. "But it will be nice to be able to stretch my legs on a hangar deck again, the Thatch was a little cramped sometimes."

"Well Sir we do have more than enough room on the station." The pilot responded.

"I think DS5 will be good. More room than a Starship but not so much that you get lost like a Stardock class, a good medium really." Carter commented.

"Do you know much about the Station yet Sir?"

"Not as much as I probably should. Before leaving the Thatch I made sure my replacement was ready to step in. Didn't spend too much time reading up. Anything in particular I should know?" Kyle asked assuming the pilot had a reason to bring up the subject.

"Not so much Sir just making small talk. But I'll give your a brief rundown if you like." The young shuttle pilot offered.

"Sounds good." Kyle answered with a nod.

"Well for starters the Station Commander, Captain T'Vaurek is Romulan if you didn't know that. DS5 has multiple Alien Embassies so at least once every other month some diplomatic event goes on." He elaborated. "The Square Mile is what we call our promenade section. It's one hundred decks and is the largest concentration of independent enterprises in the quadrant. So you're definitely going to run into more civilians than you're used to. There's the Border Research Institute, a ton of brilliant scientists from what I hear. I don't really know any of them. There is a Federation Civilian Marshal service on board in addition to Starfleet Station security, something else I'm guessing you don't have on a ship. A full Marine Detachment Commanded by Colonel Darson. Here's a local tip, if you need a quick bite try Squink's food cart, pretty good stuff if you're in a rush. And there's always the Box Of Delights, some kind of bar or lounge, I haven't made it in there yet." The pilot finished his long list just as the shuttle was pulling into the Station.

"Looks like we're here." Kyle said getting up from his seat and heading to the back of the shuttle.

"You know where you're going Sir?"

"I'm sure I can figure it out. Thanks for the quick brief, enjoy the rest of your day crewman." Kyle said as he exited the shuttle. "CAG arriving." He muttered to himself as he stepped out of the shuttle and onto the deck.
