Commander Caleb Ryan
Thu Oct 25, 2018 @ 4:43am
Matt has developed Caleb from man in pain in more that one way. A dedicated, physically wounded career officer and family man who had lost his wife and had to cope with his daughter alone and through their combined grief, to someone who gradually found a desire to recover from his lonely choices and get back up onto 'the romance horse', so to speak.

The gentle, thoughtful, progress that Caleb has made has been done in a sensitive way to allow for the reaction of his only child and her adjustment to his moving on, and also with a lot of self analysis about what he is doing, why and how he ought or ought not to proceed. It's a very touching and talented story, played out and given feeling and life in ways that are realistic and complicated but still compassionate to all sides. Mastery at its best. A real work of merit without a doubt and with so much promise to come as well.
