Mission:
Interlude - Day 3
Location: Federation Transport / Deck Seventy Three
Timeline: MD 03 - 0420 Hours
The mutters of Starfleet officers and civilians alike was growing by the second and from the far corner of the Federation transport vessel a rather annoyed looking Andorian put down his PaDD to see what all the interest was.All around him officers and civilians alike had risen from their seats and were huddling near the windows of the transport. Curious as to what the commotion was the Andorian office stood up and walked towards one of the less crowded windows. It was then that he could see what had everybody excited, Deep Space Five. Very few things gave Korudos pause, often the stoic officer was one for observation and precise action, but in this case an exception had been made. He wasn't quite sure if it was the sheer size of the station or the fact that this would be his first true posting as a senior officer, but either way the Andorian allowed himself a few moments to let it all sink in.
"Attention passengers, we are preparing our final approach and docking with Deep Space Five. Please ensure you are in your seats and thank you for choosing a Federation transport for your travel."
The voice of the pilot over the comm system brought Korudos back to reality. Returning back to his seat, the Andorian officer gathered the two PaDDs sitting on the chair's arm rest, quietly placing them in the dark red shoulder bag at his feet. By the time he had put them away and ensured everything else was away in his bag the ship was docking at the station. Standing up, Korudos made his way towards the exit and after a few moments he was moving towards the airlock and then walking aboard the station, his black eyes large as if he was a fascinated child. A rare smile slipped across his face and then in a fleeting second if was gone.
A buzz of commotion unlike anything the Ensign was familiar with filled the air as he walked along, slower than an elder priest. He couldn't help himself, he was once more taking it all in. Korudos knew the station was busy but nothing did it justice until you saw it first hand for yourself. Nearly all twenty shuttle bays had craft arriving or departing, things of people from ever refer imaginable filling the corridor. Quietly he nodded his head in admiration before thinking aloud for a moment. "If it's this busy down here I can only imagine how busy the operations center must stay. I ought to get moving."
It had been nearly three years since Korudos had last worn a Starfleet uniform yet thanks to the recommendations of his former Commanding officers and his volunteer work with the Andorian Science Council during his time away helping raise his kids, he was preparing to step into a senior staff position. it was like he had never left. Taking a moment to look around one more, Korudos went and found the nearest console and pulled up a map of the station. Locating the operations center he also made a mental note of the location of the sciences labs on deck fifty-four and sixty-one and then headed out. Today marked the beginning of a renewed journey for him and Deep Space Five is where he would make his mark.
