Mission: Pangaea (Wrap up)
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: MD4 7.45pm

"Excuse me Doctor," one of the medical staff interrupted Amia in her office. "There's a gentleman here insisting on speaking with you. He says he's an old friend of yours."

Amia looked up. Her eyes were dull and the whole amnesia ordeal was taking its toll. She had been allowed to try to do some paperwork to help her "get back up into the saddle" as it were but she was haunted by what she couldn't remember about herself. She felt like an empty tin with the contents missing.

"I'm not likely to know who he is" she muttered but didn't attempt to stop the man from entering. Looking up she felt something. ~WOW! that was novel. She had actually FELT something! ~ She stood up a wave of something powerful rippling the darkness around the inside of her head.

Liam plonked one of the cups of tea he had brought with him on her desk. He knew something was happening from the emotions she was processing. There was a stirring of familiarity within the confusion.

"I don't know if you remember me Amia but I brought tea. We used to drink it a lot and put the world to rights."

"i Do remember.... I.... " her mind searched and it almost hurt with the effort but she found something. "Liam?" a flood of emotion washed over her.

Liam smiled. "Come here," he said softly pulling her into a hug. "It's going to be okay."

Amia felt safe. For the first time since she had woken up not knowing who she was. She had an inkling that she felt safe with Cade when he had come in but even he hadn't been able to make this happen. Amia burst into tears.

Liam let her get the tears out her system, holding her as she relaxed somewhat and letting her go when she was ready to pull back again. Gently he guided her back to her chair, pulled the other one round so he was sat to the side of her.

"What's the last thing you remember properly? Without trying. Don't fight your memories or try to force anything. Just let whatever it is float through." he said. Technically attempting any counseling technique in the last few months had filled him with dread, but as always with Amia it was easy. He wasn't afraid to try access that side of him again when it came to helping her.

"We need to figure out when or where you are," he said gently.

"Thank you" she breathed, her relief making her feel weak but hopeful.

"I don't know... it's all.... like a fog...." she felt herself struggling again and drew in a deep breath to try to regain that calmer feeling again.

~Float through~ he had said. She tried to disconnect and let it come by itself.

"Biscuit," Liam said suddenly. He could feel her frustration. She was still trying to hard. She needed to relax and get back into the "safeness" she had felt when he'd given her a hug. He slid a bag of the chocolate Bajoran Sunset cookies they used to eat regularly during breaks working in sickbay together in her direction.

"They taste like Sunrise." He mirrored words Amia herself always used to say when they used to eat these amazing treats. They weren't sunset cookies to them. She renamed them sunrise because that's what she always said they tasted like! He suspected thanks to Yolanthe mentioning Amia had mentioned Haku, she was in her head, still on the Nimitz. So he had prepared. The more things he could use to trigger those memories the better.

"Sunrise. Yes they do. They did and you loved them too. We used to get really fat.... well, we should have done, the amount we ate!" she laughed, relaxing again. It was working.

"You always were the best ever counsellor in the Universe!" Amia smiled wistfully. More memories "floated". "What was the name of the lovely drink I used to love. That was a sunrise too.... it used to change colour. It was a.... Risan Sunrise.... no...... what sort of sunrise was it??" Her frown returned as she fought to remember the name of the drink. "Sumarian?" she looked quizically and then gave up.

"So, floating memories........ um... I.... I remember you! And Haku." she also remembered that Haku had left. That hadn't been in her head when she first mentioned the name to Yolanthe. "Sorry" she said, hoping she hadn't caused him sadness with that recollection.

"I think the memory I had was the one of her going off on a mission - leading it - and Cade piloting it for her.... we quarrelled...... I don't remember ever quarrelling with him at any other time....... He's so patient and kind.........." she trailed off. "You see, I do remember him.... but only when we first met..... well, that's what it seems."

"Fat. You could never get fat!!!," Liam said incredulously. "And it was an Andorran Sunrise. Excellent drink," Liam said with a grin. "More than two and you used to get a bit wobbly. Cade and I took turns in making sure you got back to your quarters okay," Liam laughed. She was always so adorable after some Andorran sunrises.

Haku," he slapped a smile on. This was about her not him. He kept filling in some blanks."Haku was my ex-girlfriend. Part Russian, part Japanese, part goddess of chaos. Amazing engineer though."

"Your minds on the Nimitz Amia. You suffered a trauma and your brains reverted back to that time for whatever reason. Your remembering the time I was there with you and before you and Cade got together. When I left you were just starting to dance around getting together. Okay this is I think helping. Have you time to take a walk?"

"That makes sense!" Amia brightened. "There's hope in sense if we could possibly find some...... sense that is.... well AND hope too.... not that much that I say makes any sense these days......." She stood up resolutely. "Yes please! Let's go for a walk"

"I think you just need more reminders so the Nimitz starts flooding back and then the bigger memories and the newer stuff here's going to start coming through," Liam said simply. He stepped to the side and let Amia go out the office. Liam took her back to his new quarters. "Fluffy cushions," he said walking in, picking one up and throwing it at her. "Old counseling secret weapon. You nicked a few for sickbay."

He left her to prod and look it over as he disappeared into a box on the floor. He still hadn't unpacked everything. "Ahh here it is," he said fishing it out. "Holographic photo device," he switched it on. "You, Cade, me and Haku on shore leave. Both you ladies polished off that chocolate creation," he indicated the dessert in the picture. "Cade and I didn't get a look in," he chuckled.

He pressed a button on the photo device and let it start rotating round some others he had in there, other old Nimitz crew members and friends, different events ..... "

Amia's eyes welled up again. It seemed to her that all she did of late was get upset one way or another. She wondered if it would all stop when the long sought memories came back.

"Sorry" she muttered and wiped her eyes with the back of a finger, breathing in deeply to try to hold it back.

"I think I remember that chocolate.... Haku and I were both very sick afterwards.... well, that's the memory I have.......... it's a memory Liam..... I HAVE a memory!! Just one but it's a start. You're a genius!" she reached over suddenly and hugged him again.

"Thank you" she whispered and then moved away slightly, picking up the soft cushion again from where it had fallen. "And.... I think I remember this too.....how did you get it back?" her lips quivered up at the edges into half a smirk. "I seem to remember putting up some serious resistance to giving them up......" a little giggle escaped and it felt so good.

"Ah yes, about that," Liam flushed pink and cleared his throat softly as he made the admission. "I would NEVER sneak back into sickbay and steal it back before I left, leaving a slightly different one in its place. I am far to grown up and manly to be that attached to my fluffy cushions of course."

Amia found a full laugh in response to that and if the giggle felt good, tag}

"You remember right. It is a memory Amia. You did get very ill. Well at least you admitted it. Haku of course suffered in silence to keep face. Stubborn as always. But I digress ..... This is good. All your memories. They are in there. And they will come back. Whatever happened to cause the trauma both your body and mind are healing up again. It'll just take time. I don't how much. No one does but they're in there," he smiled at her. "By the goddesses its good to see you again. You and Cade both."

Amia felt warm. "There's another one." she smiled with relief. "I remember how good.... Where have you been lovely friend? Have you been happy? Do you still hear from Haku? Have you seen Cade since you got here? - sorry.... too many questions?"

Liam sighed as she mentioned Haku. The pain of it all was supposed to be getting easier but it didn't feel like it yet. "It's been an interesting year. Where have I been? Well in a mirror universe for a bit. Then Betazed after in a bit to recover from that experience. The last time I saw Haku, she got me out of the mirror universe so I stupidly proposed. Naturally we both ran away from that situation and I haven't seen or heard from her since. But I'm going on the fact she hasn't hunted me down to either slap, yell at me or talk about it that ... well we are over."

"Oh Liam, I'm so sorry." Amia sighed, looking at him with genuine sympathy. "I know how much you loved Haku and I know in her own way, she loved you back. How did you get into the Mirror Universe for goodness' sake? Thank goodness she knew how to get you out! I don't know how anyone amongst the rest of us would have even known where you'd gone!" She was amazed and a little alarmed at the possibilities that were panning out.

"So you could have been lost over there forever and none of your friends would have even had a clue, let alone being there to bring help for you? I'm marvelling that Haku was able to do this ......... and deeply grateful to her!" she breathed in awe.

"Ermmm ... its complicated, Evil me nabbed me,"
