Time After Time
Timeline: MD - 14 - afternonn
Ever since the attack on the station the Box had been closed for clean up, repair, and renovation. Once he had purchased the bar from Yolanthe he had spoke several time with the bars staff to ensure them they all had jobs as long as they wanted and as long as they didn't screw up.
The repairs were done everything that needed to be was restocked and the Bar had a whole new look. But before the grand reopening Lasuma had and introduction to make.
The staff was inside the Box waiting on their new boss. Lasuma had been a familiar face, even before everything had gone to hell. And after Yolanthe had left he had made himself available to everyone. Despite the grudge Yolanthe had had against him, their interactions had all been good natured. He even joked and was able to trade barbs with the all of them. He was even able to shut down Vedra and she had the dirtiest mind of the crew.
Sitting amongst themselves as the waited for him to arrive there was only one subject being discussed.
"...I'm telling you it had to be Lasuma she was with."
"I'm still not seeing it. He just broke up with Soran..."
"Got dumped you mean."
"You don't know that for sure. We all know the had that Epic blow up on the promenade months ago and then he took her to Trill and came back. They were never seen together after the blow up so what makes you think they patched things up?"
Rolling her head as she rolled her eyes. "I told you the night ops crew told me they showed her going into Lasuma's dock and she was there for HOOUURSss. Sounds like a make up to me."
"That was right after her father had died. She didn't have anyone to turn to. He was probably comforting her."
"I wish he would comfort me for a few hours..."
"Leila...he's old enough to be your father. But we are getting off topic. If you don't think it was Lasuma who could it have been? I mean really, there were multiple Marines that mentioned that both her and Lasuma arrived soaking wet. That would match the story from the surface about the her getting in on with someone in the water."
"Well its true, she doesn't be the usual stick up the ass Vulcan. And if it was Lasuma the he's..."
From the entrance came a question. "He's what?"
They all turned to see their boss standing there with Dorian a Caitian woman, and 3 others. "Well?"
Vedra leaned back against the bar. "Then he's a playa...", saying as she rocked her shoulders.
Lasuma shook his head glancing to the group he had with him. "See what ya have to put up with."
H'Miia grinned. "Sounds like fun. Nothing wrong with a little NSFW banter with those that are ok with it; and it's not around the customers."
Vedra clapped he hands together. "Oh I like her already!"
Lasuma cocked an eyebrow at the brief interaction. "Well everyone. Those of you who were here waiting. Thank you for coming in and I will keep my part brief so all of you can get to know each other and those that have been here for a while can get the new member to the crew up to speed on what they can expect.
"First, gesturing to the Caitian to his right, allow me to introduce H'Miia. She will be the new manager and will act as a maîtres d'. She will greet, mingle, and interact with the customers as well as manage the overall operations of Box. Rosh, I want you to know you were serious considered for the position but we need your skills behind the bar."
Rosh was actually grateful he didn't have to worry about anything other than tending, but it was nice to see that he was at least considered. "Thanks."
Continuing his introductions, "Jessica."
"Yes, sir."
"I have two new faces for you. This is Mr. Holliday, a.k.a. Doc he's your new card dealer. Regardless of the game...he's your man. Next to him is Frek, he'll be taking care of the new roulette table."
"Nice to meet you guys."
Doc nodded and had to elbow Frek who was staring at the Risian leaning against the bar. "Oww oh yes. Nice to meet you as well."
"Blake."
"Yes?"
There is also an addition to your wait staff. Sh'arana is a waitress over at my cafe' and asked to work here part time."
"No problem we'll be glad to have the help."
"Excellent. Now those of you that have been this the Box for a while will have noticed a few cosmetic changes that were made during the repairs. Any questions in that regard?"
The silence and headshakes answered that. "Perfect. Well I will leave you all to get acquainted and set. H'Miia, you do have an office up, feel free to set it up however you want. One last thing...for all of the Box veterans... you've all gone through a lot even before I got to the station so you will all be seeing a raise come payday."
There was several hoots and celebratory actions and Lasuma's hands gestured them to quiet down. "Okay...be fore I go is there any thing for me?"
Vedra spoke up without hesitation or filter. "What's the real story about what happened with you and the Commodore down on the surface?"
Lacing his finger's together in front of him. "The Commodore is the Commanding officer of this station and will be given the respect her rank and position demands. As to what may or may not have taken place between me and anyone else...is no else's business. BUT to squash any rumor you may have heard. The Commodore and I went to the surface to survey various areas I have proposed for development by Lasuma Enterprises. While at the lake site I slipped and she fell while trying to help me up. That was it."
Turning to H'Miia. "There all yours." With that he nodded and he and Dorian left.
Once the doors had closed the everyone watched him go and Verda broke the silence. "He was lying his ass off..."
At that everyone started laughing in agreement.
