The lives of our characters are in a setting populated by countless other people who are important to our featured individuals. This award marks the achievement of a player for his/her development of engaging, detailed NPCs who add realism and dimension to the simm.

Nobody ever seems to hold a candle to Yolanthe. She is colourful in every sense of the word and her tapestry of scrapes and intrigues always keeps us reading with avid interest and admiration. Yolanthe is so often in the thick of whatever dodgy is going on but she is so lovable and easy to feel an empathy with, that it's impossible to dislike her. She is a key figure in the life of DS5 and her Box of Delights is a very significant centre for most of what goes on that isn't official Starfleet. She's a foundation stone, a key figure, a lovable rogue and a beautifully written kaleidoscope character. I can't wait to see what she'll be embroiled in next! :) |

This is not the first time Caleb has been nominated for an NPC award. This award applies both to his Ferengi NPCs which are vividly played and to the Caleb's daughter, a Trill teenager with a secret, all of whom are adding a different, complicated and sometimes icky dimension to the story. |

Notty does a great job running her NPC of LtCmdr Soran. She's always willing to do JP's with players and it makes her presence certainly known and appreciated. |

The moment the Captain described Qinee as _my_ Brilliant Ferengi, I knew I had to Put Caleb forward for this as that sort of praise needs to go to the person who actually deserves it. Qinee is a brilliant Ferengi, ruthlessly devoted to profit, and a true joy to read and write with. If I could produce a Ferengi half as brilliant as Caleb has made with her, I'd be very happy. |

For being an oily unpleasant throwback concealed inside a avuncular shell, I'm expecting Melvyn Raddon to hatch into a full Magnificent Bastard at any moment. Whilst Gabriel may be brusque and unpleasant, we know him better so have more sympathy. Raddon is just villainous. Its like if Nigel Farrage and Donald Trump had a love child with actual presence and charisma. |
