| Personal History | Qinee was the eldest in a struggling Ferengi family. Her father didn’t really have the lobes for business. That seemed to change when Qinee reached the age of attainment. The family wealth grew as she secretly took control of their assets. With the reforms of Grand Nagus Zek and Ishka, as well as Zek’s successor Rom, life for Qinee changed. She was of the first generation of females to start wearing clothing. She openly took over the family business in defiance of the more conservative elements of Ferengi society. Her larger than usual lobes, for a female, gained her a measure of respect, and she wasn’t afraid to cash in on the assets that nature had given her to get ahead in business. Her success led to her serving first as a Liquidator and then as a member of the Ferengi Commerce Authority. Finally she moved over to the Ferengi Trade Mission and was appointed the first female Ferengi ambassador and sent to Deep Space Five. While not a high-ranking ambassadorship, it still would provide her the opportunities for business and social advancement she desired. |
